DSLab Company and Korea University Selected by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries for R&D Projects
As the number of autonomous and smart ships increases, the importance of cybersecurity for vessels is growing. With the rising threat of cyberattacks on these advanced ships, thorough preparation is essential. DSLab Company, a cybersecurity firm specializing in autonomous and smart ships, held a workshop on the "Cyber Turtle Ship" project to develop cyber threat detection and analysis technology for ships. The workshop took place on the 15th at the conference room of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, and included participation from Korea University, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Secureye, and Pioneer Link.
Selected as an R&D project by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, this initiative aims to develop Korean ship cybersecurity technology and equipment by collecting and analyzing cyber threats specifically targeting ships. If applied to advanced vessels such as autonomous ships, smart ships, and future light aircraft carriers built by Korea, this technology is expected to merge cybersecurity with the shipbuilding and offshore industries, creating new competitiveness.
